Tamdhu distillery is a single malt Scotch Speyside whisky distillery, located in the town of Knockando in Banffshire, Scotland. Tamdhu comes from Gaelic for 'little dark hill'
Tamdhu lived on through the ups and downs of the 20th Century on the banks of the River Spey, until it was closed in 2010.
Inspired by the founders' vision, the distillery was then purchased in 2011 by Ian Macleod Distillers - a family company independent in thought and ownership.
Re-commissioned in 2012, the new owners set out to return this eminent malt to its former glory.
Nose - The softness of vanilla and sugared almonds, balanced by fresh oak and cinnamon
Palate - Bursting with fruit and spice - gently yielding to toffee and the richness of sherry oak.
Finish - Fruit and vanilla linger, becoming pleasantly drying - finally unveiling the merest wisp of peat smoke.
